Passive Fire Register
Digital passive fire register structure designed to support long-term building records and future inspection workflows.
When fire collars are required
Fire collars are typically installed where combustible plastic pipes pass through fire-rated walls or floors. During a fire the plastic pipe can soften or melt, creating an opening that allows fire and smoke to spread through the penetration.
Fire collars contain intumescent material that expands when exposed to heat. This expansion crushes the pipe and seals the opening to help maintain the fire performance of the wall or floor.
- • PVC plumbing pipes
- • Waste and drainage pipes
- • Service risers and plant rooms
- • Bathroom and kitchen penetrations
- • Plastic pipework through fire-rated floors
What a register does
A passive fire register records the location, service type, system used, supporting photographs and installation details for penetrations throughout a building.
Why it matters
Many installations become concealed after construction. A clear register helps building owners and facility managers maintain records of what was installed and where.
