Passive Fire Installation Auckland
BAKKER PFI provides professional passive fire installation across Auckland commercial buildings including apartments, offices, hotels and hospitals.
When fire collars are required
Fire collars are typically installed where combustible plastic pipes pass through fire-rated walls or floors. During a fire the plastic pipe can soften or melt, creating an opening that allows fire and smoke to spread through the penetration.
Fire collars contain intumescent material that expands when exposed to heat. This expansion crushes the pipe and seals the opening to help maintain the fire performance of the wall or floor.
- • PVC plumbing pipes
- • Waste and drainage pipes
- • Service risers and plant rooms
- • Bathroom and kitchen penetrations
- • Plastic pipework through fire-rated floors

BAKKER PFI LTD provides passive fire installation services across Auckland for commercial construction and building maintenance projects. Our team installs tested fire stopping systems that maintain the integrity of fire rated walls and floors.
Fire Rated Service Penetrations
Modern buildings contain large numbers of services such as plumbing pipes, electrical cables, cable trays and HVAC systems that pass through fire rated walls and floors. Each penetration must be sealed with a tested fire stopping system to maintain the fire resistance rating of the building element.
Typical Passive Fire Systems
Our installation work includes fire collars for plastic pipes, fire sealants for cable penetrations, fire batt systems for grouped services and specialised fire stopping systems for complex penetrations.
Commercial Buildings We Work In
We regularly install passive fire systems in apartment buildings, hotels, commercial offices, hospitals, schools and large mixed-use developments throughout Auckland.
