Passive Fire Inspection
Inspection services to identify passive fire issues before they become larger compliance problems.
When fire collars are required
Fire collars are typically installed where combustible plastic pipes pass through fire-rated walls or floors. During a fire the plastic pipe can soften or melt, creating an opening that allows fire and smoke to spread through the penetration.
Fire collars contain intumescent material that expands when exposed to heat. This expansion crushes the pipe and seals the opening to help maintain the fire performance of the wall or floor.

Passive Fire Inspection Services Auckland
BAKKER PFI provides passive fire inspection services across Auckland commercial buildings to identify missing, damaged or non-compliant fire stopping systems.
Common Passive Fire Defects
Typical inspection findings include missing fire collars, unsealed penetrations, damaged fire sealants and undocumented service penetrations through fire rated walls and floors.
Why Passive Fire Inspections Matter
Passive fire defects can compromise fire compartmentation within buildings. Regular inspections help identify issues early so remedial work can be carried out before compliance problems arise.
Inspection Reporting
Inspection reports typically include photographs, location references and recommended remedial actions to help building owners understand the passive fire condition of their building.
